How is it made ?
This game is a side project that could be worked on in the future. Since the team is pretty small and that there is no time constraint, the game will need time to be polished and released on Steam.
We used Unity 3D to create the game and its levels. The programming part is mostly left to the other Game Designer, but I did program in C# for features like dynamic music, item inventory and moving platforms. The story and dialogue is written on Inky, and is directly integrated into the game.
I used FL Studio to produce the soundtrack and sound effects, and Illustrator to design levels before prototyping them.
How did it go?
- I found ways to make exploration interesting despite the character's limited toolsets and the small number of LD bricks.
- I learned how to code in C# and integrated my features within an existing framework.
- I worked with people abroad and did weekly meetings to discuss our progress and what to do next.
- I wasn't able to implement as much level design as I had made on paper.
